Date: 17th November 2022
Place: Dar Es Salaam
Occasion: Media Statement in purpose of the 7th Paledec Investment and Humanitarian Summit – Tuesday 8th November 2022
As the chairperson for the 2022 Paledec Investment and Humanitarian Summit, that took place in Zanzibar, I am proud to say that it was a great experience to work with the team to realize this year’s summit, with the theme: The Blue Economy and Investment in Africa. We worked relentlessly as a team to bring forth a successful summit that presented diverse possibilities and opportunities.
It was an honor to be able to count amongst us the President of Zanzibar, the former President of Seychelles, Ministry of Investment from Tanzania, Ministry of Fisheries Tanzania, Ministry of Investment of Zanzibar, Ministry of Investment Mainland Tanzania, Ambassador for Climate change and Blue Economy Rtd Amb. Ronny Jumeau, amongst over 200 delegates that came from different corners of the Globe. I thank the moderators and Panelists for keeping the momentum of Investment in Africa which was widely discussed, and thanking the Board Members as well.
My aim to bring awareness to the blue economy and a sustainable future through innovation and empowerment remains at its highest and I believe this summit contributed towards it and out of which the Blue Festival was born. I committed myself to His Excellency President Hussein Mwinyi of my commitment for this yearly festival with the blessings of Former President Of Seychelles, His Excellency Danny Faure the African Union Champion Of Blue Economy.
The summit has already enable different partnerships and collaborations, such as Palacha Holdings collaborating with partners from the Maninland Tanzania, partnership between Seychelles and Tanzania, InnoAfrica from Switzerland working with partners in Zanzibar and Tanzania bringing sustainable innovation or, the export of sea weed/ sea salt product between Tanzania, Russia, Switzerland , Seychelles and hopefully open new doors.
Small stake holders both from Zanzibar and the Mainland had the opportunity to discuss partnerships.
This summit is of great essence to keep opening doors for potentials in Africa. There is a myriad of possibilities in Africa and the time has come for the world to focus on Africa. Through summit like Paledec we hope that the positive expansion and development will take place sooner rather than later.
I thank everyone who contributed in one way or the other to make this event the success it was.
Honorary Consul Of The Republic Of Seychelles in Tanzania
PALEDEC Chairperson.
